A review of '1984' by George Orwell

>

George Orwell's Ninteen Eighty-Four was defintely one of my ultimate favourite books. While I haven't read it in a long time (am planning on rereading it soon and will provide an updated review in due time), it is always a title that jumps out to me when I am asked what my favourite book is. So while I attempt to jog my memory, have a quick little summary of the novel by chat GPT:

Imagine a world where Big Brother is always watching you, and privacy is as rare as finding a unicorn riding a skateboard. In this not-so-happily-ever-after story, Orwell takes us to a dystopian future where the government is obsessed with controlling everything, from your thoughts to the number of toilet paper squares you use. They have Newspeak, a language so messed up it would make your grammar teacher cry, and they even have a creepy place called the Ministry of Truth, where they rewrite history like a bad Hollywood remake. It's a wild ride filled with oppression, surveillance, and a guy named Winston who desperately wants to break free from this messed-up reality. If you enjoy dark humor and don't mind questioning the very fabric of society, then buckle up for '1984'—a book that will make you laugh, think, and maybe invest in a good set of privacy curtains!

And so apparently that is what comes up when you try and ask chat GPT to make it's reviews funny. But yes, even with my limited memory of the book, I will proceed to give 1984 an eight out of ten review, the chat GPT description sold me.

I asked chat GPT to write it again because I'm bored as fuck and this one was just as shit:

Picture a world where Big Brother is watching your every move, and the thought police are just waiting for you to slip up. In this crazy dystopian future, a guy named Winston tries to rebel against the oppressive regime. But it's not as easy as it sounds, because they've got surveillance cameras in every corner, and even your own telescreen might be spying on you! Plus, they've got this thing called Newspeak that's like a language on steroids, where they can control your thoughts by limiting your vocabulary. It's like a messed-up game of hide-and-seek, except they're always one step ahead. Can Winston break free from this nightmare? Well, you'll have to read the book to find out, but let's just say it's a wild ride through a world that'll make you question everything, including the true meaning of "Big Brother is watching you." Spoiler alert: it's not a friendly sibling rivalry
